Kassidy and Scott - June 18, 2022

June 18th, 2022: a day of love and sentiment. I had the honor of capturing Kassidy and Scott’s, two of my old high school classmates’, beautiful day.

It began in the girls’ hotel room, which was missing none other than the girls themselves. One thing about hair and makeup time - it cannot and will not be rushed. That time is sacred for you to feel your very best! Although the schedule got nudged back a bit, it’s definitely common. And you know it didn’t stop us from getting some gorgeous robes and detail shots! (Pro tip for my brides: I always try to suggest getting your hair and makeup done in the middle of all of your bridesmaids. It’ll help melt the nerves and any stress about the day ahead. Plus, the show can’t begin without the star!) Speaking of the star of the show, Kassidy’s veil was one of my favorites I’ve ever photographed. The detail, length, and flow were all a *chef’s kiss*.

While the girls wrapped up their finishing touches, the guys got ready at a nearby family member's home exchanging lots of laughs and happy memories.

No first look, no problem. Kassidy and Scott chose to do a first touch before their ceremony and it was heartwarmingly intimate. If you’re unsure of doing a first look, I highly recommend a first touch to reground each other’s energies right before taking the aisle. This is also a perfect opportunity to share private vows or read one another notes which, as you can see from Scott’s raw emotions below, is what these two did.

Their new journey together became official in a place that’s so dear to me, St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in downtown St. Charles. Not only is it the church my family attends, but it’s also the place my grandpa went to school. Not to mention, the architecture just leaves you in awe. The room was full of adoration for the newlyweds with family and friends surrounded beaming with joy.

After the ceremony, there was some time to be burned, so what better way to do it than by walking around downtown with the bridal party? We took a lap around the nearby park to snap some shots, and grabbed a bite to eat and a drink to sip at a local whiskey bar called Barrel and Rye. Next up was to head to the venue to get the evening started.

Garfield Farms in Campton Hills, IL was lush and bright. Scott's parents were married at this exact farm years ago. We took some more pictures around the property and then ventured to the dance floor.

Kassidy shared such a sweet dance with her mom, which was special and emotional in every way. There truly is no bond like a mother and her daughter. After, the food was enjoyed, the dancing then commenced; ringing in a night of love and laughter ahead. I spent a wonderful day in great company, celebrated love, and even got to see some familiar faces from my high school years. How could I ask for more?
