Birthdays are already special, but I was lucky enough to have an extra special one this time around because it also happened to be Jamie and Frank’s day. I mean, truly, what better way to celebrate another year around the sun than capturing love, eating cake and dancing the night away?
So let’s rewind to June 11th, 2022. Jamie and Frank’s day was held at Goebbert’s in Pingree Grove, IL where beauty could be found in quite literally everything. From the warm colored flower bouquets and centerpieces made by the bride herself, to their two adorable babies soaking in the loving energy that surrounded them - it simply was the perfect place to be.
As the crowd rolled in, the bridal party was found in the property’s cottage, where the girls got ready inside a bright, inviting suite upstairs, while the guys below in a moodier suite complete with comfy leather couches and a study vibe.
The rain came down as the bride did the aisle, which also happened to be when Frank and Jamie got their first look of one another. Some involuntary tears were shed (Frank couldn’t hold it in much longer, even though he may have tried)! Jamie’s train was ethereal. The bridesmaids sage green dresses enveloped the cozy, gloomy vibe that the weather was; and I couldn’t help but think how much I hope sage sticks around for years of weddings to come. Such a beautiful color. The ceremony was intimate, symbolic, and memorable. Their daughter was the sweetest little flower girl, and Jamie and Frank planted a tree together to embody their unity.
Post ceremony, aka, party time, was unique and filled with fun. But first, we snapped the most magical pictures on a carousel (which was a first for me)!
The rain then subsided and invited a glowing sunset out to play, in which we got even more angelic photos with the help of my fractal to capture the sun’s spilling rays. BBQ and bundt cakes were served - because what better way to celebrate a midwest wedding than that?! Plus, I got to savor some gluten free cake they also had available, making it the second birthday in a row to indulge in gluten free cake (shoutout to Aaron and Katie for last year).
Goebbert’s reception area was a beautiful, bright, wide open space with all the natural daylight one could need for their special day. Their first dance was to “Cover Me Up” by Morgan Wallen, which was jam-packed with emotion in those 4 minutes and 52 seconds. Following, the DJ got everyone on the dance floor with none other than, “We are Family” playing loud and proud through the speakers. From their dearest family members to their energetic friends to their cherished children; it’s safe to say that every single soul there was radiating off of the love Frank and Jamie shared.
It was an incredible day and birthday, and I’m so grateful for every minute of it. Anyone ready to claim June 11th, 2023?!
